The XI International Symposium on Kiwifruit committee have arranged a fantastic post-conference tour to return to Auckland, via Middle Earth (Hobbiton).

Departing from Mount Maunganui (Tauranga), sit back and relax and take in the scenes of rural New Zealand. As you head over the Kaimai Ranges, admire the amazing scenery of rural New Zealand as you head toward Hobbiton (Middle Earth).

Whether you have read the books, seen the movies or neither at all - this is one day you will not forget. 

Explore 44 Hobbit Holes set across 12 acres of lush pasture and manicured gardens, visit Bag End, the Party Tree, Gandalf's Cutting, the Mill House and more. For movie buffs, there are recognisable landmarks at every turn. Learn inside tips from the making of the movies from your expert guide and get wrapped up in the fascinating stories they tell along the way.

Cap off your tour with a complementary ale, cider or ginger beer in the Green Dragon Inn where you can sit by the fire and admire the expert craftmanship and imagine life as a hobbit!

On departure from Hobbiton, you will head to Auckland City for your final drop off. There will be stops at Auckland International Airport, Auckland Airport Sudima Hotel and Skycity Bus Terminal.
